About Me!
I am so grateful a member of the HTeNC community as a 2nd grade teacher. I'm originally from Alexandria, VA, and have come to San Diego by way of Nashville, TN. There, I attended Vanderbilt University where I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Child Studies, M.Ed. in Learning and Instruction, and English Language Learner endorsement. This is my second year at HTeNC.
"When you teach, you change the very order of things - From what is, to what is possible" |
As an educator, I am passionate about helping children grow into independent, lifelong learners. My mission is to establish a classroom with a strong sense of community, positive learning environment, and authentic learning experiences that will allow my students to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. I work hard to know and understand each student as an individual, and strongly value collaboration with teachers and parents. "Great teachers empathize with kids, respect them, and believe that each one has something special that can be built upon." |

Outside of the classroom, I live a very active lifestyle. I love to travel, and explore new places and activities in this beautiful city. I enjoy yoga, hiking, going to Padres games with my brother and sister-in-law, attending concerts, and eating as much chocolate as possible :)
